Kathy Wakeman is a young woman who gives up her dreams of a college career to marry the man of her desires. Soon after the wedding, Kathy's marine husband is sent to fight in Vietnam and is tragically killed. Suddenly all alone and still living on the military base, she struggles to come to terms with her husband's death. Things go from bad to worse when the military instruct her to leave the base. Kathy refuses and soon realizes that she must get her life back on track. Finding work at the base's recreation centre, she discovers that life maybe is worth living after all. The Promise of Love is a heartfelt story that will leave a tear in your eyes and joy in your heart.
