Two elderly World War II buddies, Ernie and Rose, find themselves each trapped in the darker existence of life, living - and dying - together in their small home. Friends for 40 years, they bicker, laugh, reminisce and discuss death. The two lead almost parallel lives until an extraordinary event unites them in an astonishing climax.
